Weltkrieg war ein namenloses Menschheitsverbrechen, das im Internationalen Recht jener Zeit keine Erw\u00e4hnung fand und daher ungestraft blieb. W\u00e4hrend des 2. Weltkriegs schl\u00e4gt der polnische Jurist Raphael Lehmkin (1900-1959) unter Verweis auf die Vernichtung der europ\u00e4ischen Juden den Neologismus &#8220;Genozid&#8221; vor, der im Deutschen meist mit &#8216;V\u00f6lkermord&#8217; wiedergegeben wird. In der &#8220;Konvention \u00fcber die Verh\u00fctung und Bestrafung des V\u00f6lkermordes&#8221; der Vereinten Nationen von 1948 wird dieses Menschheitsverbrechen erstmals rechtlich definiert und kriminalisiert. In der Folgezeit wird jedoch schnell klar, dass die Definition gravierende M\u00e4ngel aufweist, die ihre Anwendung auf konkrete F\u00e4lle erschweren und den vern\u00fcnftigen Sinn des V\u00f6lkermordbegriffs selbst in Frage stellen.<\/p>\n<p>Die philosophische Matinee l\u00e4dt sowohl politisch als auch philosophisch Interessierte zum Nachdenken und Austauschen ein. Das Philosophische Institut sowie das Institut f\u00fcr Politische Wissenschaft der RWTH, die Volkshochschule, das Eine Welt Forum und \u201cLogoi. Institut f\u00fcr Philosophie und Diskurs\u201d beleuchten mit diesem Gemeinschaftsprojekt globale Themen wie Weltarmut, Menschenrechte und Verteilungsungerechtigkeit aus philosophischer Sicht.<\/p>\n<p>Spezielle Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.
